Williston ARC to Open March 28

Williston Area Recreation Center Grand Opening  
 
WILLISTON, N.D. – The Williston Area Recreation Center Grand Opening Ceremony will be held on March 28th, 2014 at 4:00pm.
Williston Parks & Recreation District Staff and Park Board Commissioners welcome everyone to this historical event.  On Friday, March 28th, 2014 at 4:00pm there will be a short ceremony, than a ribbon cutting, followed by opening of the Williston ARC.  We will have cookies, cake, food and refreshments and admission will be free of charge thru Monday March 31st.   
On Saturday, March 29, 2014 we invite everyone to enjoy the many activities that we have planned. Admission and all events are free.  The building opens at 6:00am and we will start the day off with our first event at 9:30am with a 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk in the field house and on the walking track.  At 10:15am we will have autographs with Katie Ledecky, Olympic Gold Medalist, World Record Holder and granddaughter of Kathleen and E.J. Hagan!  At 11:00am we will dedicate the 50m Pool to E.J. Hagan, M.D. followed by Katie swimming the first lap in the newly named, Hagan Natatorium, everyone will be encouraged to watch Katie swim with the Sea Lions after her first lap.

From 12:00-4:00pm there will be a variety of free Fitness Classes and Youth Contests.
            12:00-1:00pm  Spin and Free Throw Competition
            1:00-2:00pm    Group Circuits and Long Drive Competition
            2:00-3:00pm    Yoga and Fastest Tennis Serve
            3:00-4:00pm    Kettlebell and Wiffleball Home Run Derby
            4:00-5:00pm    Spin and Wakeboard Competition
With that said, we would like to thank the Williston Convention and Visitors Bureau, The Grand Williston Hotel, and Wal-Mart for their donations to help make this day complete.
Williston Parks and Recreation District hopes that families will come on out to the Williston ARC and help us open up this beautiful facility for our community and region.
