Posted: Oct 17 2022
Flannel Fest Scheduled for October 22 at Lewis & Clark State Park

Lewis & Clark State Park has partnered up with the Williston Convention & Visitors Bureau to bring a new fall festival to Williams County and surrounding areas. Flannel Fest will be held on Saturday, October 22, 11a-4p. The event is designed to encourage the public to explore outdoor recreational opportunities year-round. Event guests will have an afternoon filled with family-friendly activities including a 3-hole frisbee golf course, escape room puzzles, live music from North Dakota band “October Road,” mini golf and more.
North Dakota Parks will have a booth at the festival to highlight year-round activities that can be enjoyed in various state parks like canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding, OHV riding, snowmobiling, ice fishing, geocaching and hiking, among others. Flannel Fest merchandise will be for sale and the first fifty tickets sold will receive a free Flannel Fest insulated travel mug. Other recreation-oriented vendors will be in attendance as well, such as Freedom Outdoors and Badlands Bird Dog Club.
“There are so many enjoyable activities North Dakota citizens and visitors can be involved in, year-round,” commented Lewis and Clark State Park Manager Katie Ogden. “Outdoor recreation is vital to our well-being. Taking a walk on the trails, bird watching, ice fishing and kayaking are all great examples of how the park can be a resource for the public to take a break and reset from a stressful time. We think Flannel Fest is the perfect opportunity to check out what Lewis & Clark State Park has to offer.”

Other features the public can look forward to include a professional pumpkin carver working on-site, a complimentary fall soup bar, a special geocaching challenge (along with instructions on how to do it!) and kid-friendly crafts.

Tickets to the festival are $15. Children aged 12 and under are free. The North Dakota State Parks entry fee has been waived thanks to a generous donation by NCC.
