Alternate l- History of the Fur Trade!

  • Enjoy delving into local history at the beautiful Missouri-Yellowstone Confluence Center. Fort Buford State Historic Site is nearby & Fort Union Trading Post National Historic Site, with its reconstructed Bourgeois House, is only another couple miles west! (3 hours)
  • Stop for supper and casino gambling in Trenton or drive over to Fairview for local favorite Powder Keg Pizza. (2 hours)
  • Still have more gas in the tank? Take in sunset from the middle of the Fairview Lift Bridge. (1 hour)

Alternate ll- Head South! (all day trip)

  • Visit both the north and south units of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. You will come across the North Unit first, and it wouldn't be unusual to become part of a bison traffic jam! (2 hours including drive time)
  • Stop for lunch at Trapper's Kettle in Belfield (2 hours including drive time)
  • Take a drive through the South Unit of the National Park.(1 hour)
  • Enjoy the pitchfork fondue followed by the Medora Musical. Or if pizza is more your style, check out the pizza parlor in town. There is a great Cowboy Hall of Fame museum, as well, and other stops. (3 hours + 2 hour drive back to Williston if returning)
